Awareness about the harmful effects of smog on our bodies continues to grow. We are taking more and more care to minimize the risks that come with having to spend long periods of time in an environment where we are forced to breathe in highly polluted air. However, along with these attempts come a variety of concerns. For example, we often wonder what is the difference between smog and fog?

Is it smog or fog?

Interestingly, this similarity has not been striking us for some time. After all, the word “smog” was just created from the combination of “smoke” and “fog,” and it’s more than a century old! When we see a dense cloud that significantly reduces our field of vision, we often wonder if it’s smog or just plain fog. In that case, are there any ways to resolve it? What is the difference between smog and fog?

What is the difference between smog and fog? Can you recognize it?

What is the difference between smog and fog?

Although the similarity cannot be hidden, there are several ways to show what is the difference between smog and fog. These are:
1. fog is made of water molecules, while smog includes smoke and particulates. This means that fog is “cleaner” than its counterpart.
2) Smog can take on a variety of colors – this is because different types of pollutants can cause it.
3) Fog is usually denser than smog and makes it harder to see things from a distance.

It is worth mentioning here that fog, unlike smog, is not dangerous to your health. For this reason, if we are not sure we know what the difference between smog and fog is, it is worth using a special technology that will check it instead of us and give us a clear and definite answer.
