TFT screen – what do you need to know?

So far when thinking of various types of screens, monitors, in other words, matrices used in many devices, people think of the abbreviation LCD known as Liquid-Crystal Display. What is a TFT screen?

The name TFT screen itself is an acronym for Thin Film Transistor.  To be more specific, it is a type of transistor used for color Liquid-Crystal Displays (also known as LCD). These transistors are produced using the CVD method (Chemical Vapor Deposition) which involves the use of a liquid mixture of hydrogen and silicon in an organic solvent, and the use of a rotary overlay method for liquid semiconductors. TFT matrix, or TFT LCD, is called active matrix, where each pixel of the matrix controls as many as four transistors, where one is responsible for brightness and the other three for primary colors.

This technology, which is used in TFT screen, results in higher resolutions, fastest access times, better color sharpness, and overall higher performance compared to regular LCD matrices. The solution is more complicated technologically, so as a result, is more expensive. It is used for more precise displays, for example for high-quality monitors or notebooks.
