Does air pollution affect climate change?
July 4, 2022Climate change is something that is being talked about more and more. Signs are coming from all over that the planet is changing, and only a few still cling to the fact that the process does not exist. Alongside these reports, the topic of air pollution is being raised just as vociferously, but does that mean the two are related? Does air pollution affect climate change? We already explain!
What is climate change?
Climate change is nothing more than what we observe every day. For years, everyone has been saying even in colloquial conversations that summers are getting warmer and winters are getting colder, and such situations are nothing but the very result of climate change. However, does air pollution affect climate change?
Climate change and air quality: does air pollution affect climate change?
Unfortunately, the relationship between these two phenomena is very strong. Pollutants in the air, such as greenhouse gases, make it impossible for warm air to leave the Earth. This leads to its warming, and consequently to very extreme weather conditions – droughts, floods, hurricanes…. It’s also the cause of melting glaciers and thus rising sea levels. All this, in turn, causes the ecosystem to be disrupted, vegetation does not have the conditions for effective growth, and animals lack food. So if someone ever asks you does air pollution affect climate change, you can certainly answer yes.
